I am available for school presentations. This is something I absolutely love to do!  Here are some
of the comments I have received:

"Your visit was truly a treat for Meairs School. We received a wonderful presentation, information about
being an author, and an opportunity to ask questions about a profession that interests many. I sincerely
hope that I have the opportunity to hear you speak again someday. As the staff left the multi-purpose room

grade students like Leigh Rogers was able to! She was invited to share from her book: Sticky Situations:
Stories of Childhood Adventures Abroad. She did that and so much more. Students in the intermediate
grades need to be able to write personal narratives, according to our state standards. In order to be
successful at this, they need to experience excellent models. Leigh provided students with outstanding
examples of powerful personal narratives. Not only did her writing engage each and every student
completely, but her oral performance was dynamic as well!"

Leigh Platt Rogers, author of Sticky Situations: Stories of Childhood Adventures Abroad, came to our school
on February 2, 2006, for our District -wide Authors Festival. She gave three presentations to our students,
each lasting about 40 minutes, about her life experiences living in Austria, France, Laos and the United
States as the child of a CIA agent. She also spoke about the writing process and gave the students many
ideas for writing a good, interesting story. She brought visual aids that she shared with the students that
related to her book.
Leigh is an exciting, animated speaker. She related well to our students and was very entertaining as well
as informative. Some of the comments from the teacher evaluations are as follows:
